Check criteria

We screen profiles in the background and step in when needed. We look at whether a profile is complete and follows our rules, not whether your idea is good.

  • Screened in the background
  • Searches checked before they go live
  • Same criteria for everyone

What we check

  • A complete profileEverything other members need to decide: your role, skills, time commitment, a short bio and at least one link.
  • Co-founding, not selling or hiringCofoundista is for people who build a company together. Offers of services, agency pitches and job ads break our code of conduct.
  • Respectful contentNothing offensive, discriminating or misleading, in words or in your photo.
  • Evidence for exitsAn exit in your founder experience needs a link that confirms it, such as a press article or a register entry. Checked exits show a badge on your profile.

Co-founder searches are checked against the same criteria before they go public.

What we do not judge

We do not rate your idea, your CV or your chances. There is no quota and no ranking. A profile that meets the criteria stays live.

How the review works

Your profile goes live when you submit it. We screen it in the background against these criteria.

We only step in when something needs a change.

  • All good: nothing changes, your profile stays live.
  • Changes requested: your profile and your searches go offline, the email says what to fix, and after your change we check again before it goes live.
  • Suspended: only for serious breaches of the code of conduct, always with the reason.

When you change your profile

If you change your name, photo, bio, questions or links, we check the change too. Your profile stays visible in the meantime.

Something not right?

Members can report a profile or a search, for example a job ad posted as a co-founder search, spam or a fake profile, and block a person they do not want to hear from again. Our team looks at every report and decides: no action, taking a search offline or suspending an account. Nobody is told who reported.
